Among the three contractors that submitted designs for this space, OL&L was the only one that understood the intricacies of this job. This was a patio, deck, and retaining wall project at a condo. The design needed to (among other things): deal with sloping terrain and drainage, receive HOA approval, and be respectful of adjacent owners. OL&L was able to schedule the most invasive construction during off-season. When demolition revealed an unforeseen foundation issue, OL&L efficiently found a solution.

Currently working with Chad and Outdoor Living and Landscapes on a single family, residential, new construction, multi-acreage and multi-year project. We are only through stage 1 of the project, and will update this review once finalized. However, so far we could not be more pleased. The design process was easy; Chad is very creative, prompt, and will listen to your ideas. All work is done with thought, care, and simply very high quality. Would recommend their services with the highest regards. *Update on “stage 2.” Also went off without a hitch. Continue to recommend with the highest regards. Look forward to continue working on our property.

We have used “Outdoor Living & Landscape “ for 3 different projects over the last few years and could not be happier with the attention to detail and the quality of work! I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone and know that they would be in great hands.I know I could count on the highest quality of work being done.

If you choose to hire Outdoor Living & Landscapes, I would go out of your way to make sure that you have a good relationship with your neighbors. The company was hired to install a lawn and do some minor landscaping on my neighbor’s home, and (what I think is) the owner took it upon himself to pull a grading plan that is vastly different than the one that the neighborhood is operating under, and clear cut a 13” drop off between my yard and his. The logical route would be to discuss this based on the current grade and do something that doesn’t both look terrible and also act counterintuitive to the original goal of draining water effectively, but that was not what was done. He stressed professionalism, while simultaneously attempting to throw around his position as Vice President of the Fox Valley Landscaping Association as though it had relevance to professionalism, the discussion being had, or anything at all really. Ultimately, the work he does looks as though it is good enough, I can’t really tell honestly because most yards look identical after being seeded. The only exception here is that it destroyed the aesthetic of the lot line in the process. This review centers around his professionalism and general arrogance, as I don’t know much of the actual quality of his work other than what can visually be seen one day after completion. In short—if you want to pay top dollar for the right to ruin any dynamic of visual or personal tranquility with your neighbors, I guess this would be the company to choose. **To answer the response from the owner, the reason that you are getting a one-star review from a homeowner that you never contracted with is because your demeanor came across that poorly. It should say something to your professionalism that you call a factual review comical. I went out of my way to make sure that what I wrote was objective, so you calling the objective situation comical is a sad representation of the company.
