International Crane Foundation

So Worth it!!! I was in Baraboo exploring and a shop owner insisted I go see the cranes. So thankful as it's an experience I will never forget. You get to see these magnificent birds up close and personal. It was so peaceful. I was like a kid in a candy shop. Felt blessed to share time with some very special, magnificent and often endangered creatures. Very impressive foundation.

This wonderful place has so much to offer, including the only collection of all 15 different types of cranes in the world! They even have free tours available at various times each day, so you can really enjoy everything they have to share. It’s definitely worth a visit (and as a bonus, it's only an hour or so from Madison, and much closer than that to Devil's Lake State Park!).

The only place in the world to see all 15 crane species. Did the tour and it was incredibly fascinating learning about these birds. Outside of the animals they have a few walking paths through restored prairie. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience! The cranes were all beautiful, the facility is clean and well cared for with a nice gift shop with local artisan work. Great educational experience and well worth the entry fee. They have electric scooters for those that need them. My mother used one which allowed her to see the whole loop. Very much appreciate their customer service with getting her set up and transitioned from her walker.

I can't put i to words how unbelievably awesome this was!!! The birds were all taken care of and looked healthy. My husband and I could have stayed for hours watching and learning about these beautiful birds! All the staff were great too.
