Menards

Not all businesses are perfect and when you look at the scale of menards they deserve a five star rating I have done business with menards for nearly 40 years. I am a retired commercial superintendent from Madison area I have completed many projects useing menards I built a 40x60x14 shop useing all Menards materials out of all the lumber there was just a few boards that were warped which I used for bracing I was overly impressed Sometimes I go to Home Depot which I’m not knocking just pointing out that Menards dose an excellent job at supplying good quality material where Home Depot lacks that experience quality material installs like it should and saves time Menards also dose a good job at supplying low end material and high end to give you choices which gives customers value I have had talks with the General Manager baraboo store and he seems like a really sound guy that not only listens but if there is an issue he takes the time and makes sure it’s corrected which is a rarity Alternative lumber yards are always a choise but they do not stock anywhere near what Menards stocks which saves time and is tremendous value to the customer There will always be issues Menards has everything you need at one location and they do a good job with staff. Material. And giving the customer choices. When you look at all they have to offer there is no other place to shop !!

We are doing a walk in shower and got the materials that we needed. They are always so friendly and helpful! We appreciate having a business like this so close.

The employees in the store are very nice and helpful. The workers outside in the materials area, not so much. They used to help load materials and now don't. As soon as you go out there, they seem to scatter rather than help. In contrast, we recently went to Prairie du Chien Menards and they helped a lot in sub zero weather to boot. I wish Prairie Du Chien wasn't so far away.

The store itself isn't bad. But be careful with ordering stuff for delivery. A few times now the lumber that was sent really seemed to be all the scraps that were already picked over by in-store customers. Order 50% more than you need because at least half will be garbage. Most recently, the delivery service's truck broke down and apparently was left outside overnight in the rain. There was an electronic deadbolt on the pallet that arrived soaked and parts were falling out of the sopping wet cardboard box.

We were sent home with a damaged washing machine. It looks like it has been dropped. We called the store. Manager could care less. Menards sure values their customers and their time. We spent 3 hours going there and back. We are definitely done with Menards after this. What a joke.
