The project in front of my house (partially repaving 2200 block of King St) is not listed in Construction Projects. When a moving van crew just now removed the alley barricades and drove across concrete poured less than 48 hours earlier, I was unable to reach anyone either at your department or the contractor (Fowler-Hammer) to report this (it's Sunday). The movers (La Crosse Moving) plan to drive out the same way they came in, allegedly because the right angle turn of the alley north of their client is too tight for the van to get out to 23rd St. Thus, the new concrete will be subjected to the van weight again, the second time fully loaded and much heavier. With all the projects you have in progress at a given time, you should have an on-call number for someone who can deal with these issues. I don't want to call the police, because the concrete may, for all I know, be strong enough after 24-48 hours to easily bear the load. The movers did ask when it was poured.

I do not think that there is any oversight for this department. If and when someone actually answers the phone, they are very snippy. There was a one car accident that took out a tree, street light and shrubs next to my home. I called on behalf of several neighbors to have someone come out and clean up the debris and oil from the accident at the end of our alley. Three days later and we are still waiting...
