Gerry has been an excellent project manager for my build. We had several delays early in the process (not the fault of AGB) and Gerry stuck with me every step of the way to help assure things went as needed. Communication was not just good, it was constant and he made himself available whenever I'd call or text. We are not at the property full-time and Gerry would always swing by to check on the progress and see us when we are in town. If you've ever had a house built you know nothing goes strictly as planned and the key is how the builder deals with changes and setbacks. I can say that thanks to Gerry, we were always able to get things back on track. If you go with AGB you would do well to have Gerry on your project.

We're incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with American Garage Builders on a recent project in the Madison area. From the beginning, the collaboration was seamless and professional. A special thanks to Patrick, the project manager, whose communication and leadership made the experience even more enjoyable. Dan was very impressed with the onsite meeting at their facility with Patrick. Busy and professional office! The entire staff was welcoming, responsive, and great to work with. It's always a pleasure partnering with a team that shares the same commitment to quality and integrity. We truly enjoyed this project and look forward to building a strong, ongoing partnership in the future. Thank you again for trusting us with this opportunity! Well it all started out well but was a delay in the flat work . When it was finally poured it was HORRIBLE ! I contacted the rep and he chewed my ass out about chirping at the guy doing the flat work . ( which I never did ) well when they came and poured the driveway that was even worse than the garage slab . Well there rep just kept putting me off . The cement was just coming apart and aggregate was coming out . The rep said it was because I used a metal shovel !! Any ways fast forward a month and the new owner contacted me because he heard what had happened to me. He came up with the guy incharge of all the flatwork . They told me that it will be removed and redone properly as soon as weather conditions improve . Well they did it 2 weeks ago and it looks fantastic. JERRY , RON and there crew really do great work . The garage was put up by JOSE and his crew and they used all quality products and did very good work . Was very particular when building the garage and it looks great ! The crew that did the bad flatwork and the rep that started with me are no longer on the payroll . I would highly recommend them to build your garage . The new owner is VERY customer orientated . I gave them 4 stars because I'm still waiting to see what there going to do about the garage slab .

We hired American Garage Builders in September 2024 to rebuild our garage, completed in December 2024. From the start, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. The salesperson who handled our contract quit minutes before we were scheduled to sign, leaving us scrambling to sign before winter. The permitting process was mishandled—our garage was placed too close to the property line, and we were told it was our responsibility to pay to move the rebar if the city required it. We had to contact the city ourselves to get approval. Later, we learned the company had been fined for permit errors and never scheduled the final inspection, which I had to arrange myself months later. The materials and workmanship were poor. The first garage door arrived dented, and we had to accept a brown replacement to get the project finished before winter. They didnt ship the correct number of roof joists, leaving the attic ladder tight to the wall. A hole was left in the roof, the trim was never right, and they never came back to clean up the wood and cardboard debris—we ended up doing it ourselves in the snow. Despite paying nearly $50,000, we were later contacted by unpaid subcontractors threatening to place a lien on our home. Less than a year later, our garage door tension cable snapped, making it inoperable. Precision Garage Door of Menomonee Falls found multiple errors: the door was manufactured in 2021 (not new), plastic rollers were used on an 18’x8’ door, and the drums, shaft, and springs were incorrect and over-tightened. The technician said it looked like “someone watched a YouTube video” to install it. I paid $1,532 to fix it. I did my homework before hiring this company, but what we received was poor workmanship, lack of oversight, and zero accountability. Proceed with caution if you’re considering American Garage Builders.

Awful experience. Took 5 months to complete the job and communication was abysmal. The actual work done by the subcontractors was fine and satisfactory. The contractor did not follow up or keep in contact without several attempts on our part. Texts and phone calls unanswered, miscommunication and the feeling of being ghosted.
