I had an outstanding experience at Menards thanks to the incredible help I received from the plumbing department. Michael went above and beyond to solve a complex issue with a bath kit that had me stumped. His knowledge, patience, and problem-solving skills made all the difference, and he didn’t stop until everything was fully resolved. I also want to recognize the amazing customer service I received from Karen and Angel. Both were friendly, attentive, and made sure I had everything I needed before leaving. It’s rare to find a team that works so well together to take care of their customers, but they truly delivered. Because of Michael, Karen, and Angel, I’ll definitely be coming back to Menards for future projects. They turned a stressful situation into a great experience.

So I am not exactly sure when mendards started sourcing the vast amount of inventory items from China that they currently have, and I am not really sure how i feel about that either... However, it would be next to impossible for them to fulfill the promises claimed in their iconic, national propaganda level, jingle if they hadn't done so. That jingle was incredibly effective, partly due to the years of repitition, but also because its rhyming rythmic nature is just so damn "catchy". These aspects make it a double edge sword though, as it became the linchpin of the business, untouchable over the years, like a living legend of advertising prowess. And if i had to guess, which i do, it was created in house as well, truly astonishing... Well, anyways, i would apologize for my rambling, but i dont want to. Good luck out there bargain hunters, and God speed.

Ut seems Menards has become the K-Mart of hardware stores, lumber companies, whatever. Quality has gone down hill, customer service is almost nonexistent. It's a far cry from what it uses to be. I got stuck today waiting in the checkout lane for 30 min just to get a price on a floor tile piece i bought to have a. Usually on a remodel I'm considering. I think I will go to Floor and Decor next time. Better quality anyways.

The workers are great but I’m so so so very disappointed in Menards’ boxes. I bought many, many for an international move. As this is my 8th move overseas, I chose the double-walled boxes for added strength. I actually prefer these to their competitor’s (HD’s) because there aren’t any openings for handles. As these will go via sea freight I’d just have to cover the holes up anyway. I’ve purchased MANY of the L and XL boxes. So many of the boxes do not align AT ALL. Big gaping spaces no matter how much you try to push them together (me AND my husband struggled together!). In my first (of several) box runs, I got 15 L and 5 XL. Of those 5 XL, 3 were so bad. I made 2 of them work but the 3rd bad one had to be exchanged for a different one as the seam was bent OUTSIDE the box. My second batch of L boxes (gotten in Monona because SP was out) has been SO MUCH WORSE. At $5+ per box, this should not be. I’ve purchased these to ship my belongings safely overseas. If Menards can’t manage their production line correctly to manufacture good quality boxes, I’m really concerned. You’ve got your name all over the boxes. I’m not sure I’d want that kind of advertising given how subpar the items are. See the pictures to understand what I’m talking about. There should NOT be so much space between the flaps; only tape is there instead of cardboard!!!!! I gave this unsolicited feedback to both the customer service desk (when you enter) and the man in charge of this area. I’m sorry to say no one seemed that interested in what I had to say. FOLLOW UP - Thanks for the reply BUT … I sent a message to that address on 1/23 but … no reply. So I guess the SP GM isn’t all that interested…. Pity.

I purchased a snowblower from Menards and unfortunately the unit was not operable right out of the box. Instead of receiving a straightforward exchange or meaningful discount for a defective product, I was sent to a warranty shop—only to find out later that I wasn’t even given the correct information for where to take it. After finally getting the machine repaired, I was told no refund or adjustment would be offered, even though the product never worked from the start. Buying something brand‑new that requires immediate repair is extremely disappointing, and the lack of accurate guidance and customer support made the experience even more frustrating. I expected better communication and accountability. This experience has made me reconsider future purchases of gas‑powered equipment from this store.
