Ben and his crew took care of 3 areas that needed work. My favorite part was watching Ben problem solve and plan the day he came to quote. The way he analyzed my existing concrete by looking at all possibilities to solve the problem impressed me. Thats how I am, so I knew he was my contractor. His crew was nothing less than fabulous.

Ben Secor started our project which was very large, consisting of a patio and driveway that connected. Their are multiple areas where stain from the boarder ran over onto the main section of the concrete which has to be grinded off. I brought this up to him and asked what do we do about this? His initial response was "its a good experience for my men to know what not to do". I then asked him what are you going to do to fix this he said nothing. Afterwards he said he would come grind it off and put a thin layer of concrete down and texture it. Which he informed me will be close to the same color but wont be the same. So I just paid over $50,000 for a job that I wanted done right and now its getting patch work (Which it hasn't received). The concrete was poured too close to the siding giving no clearance for heaving or freeze thaw movement. Which in turn has caused my siding to buckle. Ben was in such a rush to get my job done that he sealed over unfinished areas that were not even fully stained, run over bleeding stain, and tiqueing that has droplets all over my drive way which looks like motor oil got spilled. When tarping over the concrete for it to cure they did not dry the tarps which were wet. Causing droplets to get onto the concrete which you can see in one of the photos in this post. He did not stain the border evenly creating a large amount of my border to look unfinished, because they are. The driveway part of the concrete suffered extreme discoloration due to improper curing. He refuses to do anything about this, please look at photos for example. Worst of all he poured the concrete so high it's above my foundation and above the sill plate of my home. Since it is above the foundation this will cause water from hydrostatic pressure to flow into my basement instead of escaping outside and flowing on top of the concrete. He refuses to do anything to resolve this issue. Parts of the concrete are pitched toward and not away from the home near the wall of the house. During rainfall the water will roll toward the house, and due to the fact that the concrete is higher then the foundation that water will collect on the sill plate or flow into the basement. Photos included in post. The water will end up collecting on the Sill plate (the crucial first layer of wood framing for a house) which is highly absorbent to moisture; This will end up creating mold and rot on the home. The concrete on the back patio, which hasn't even been there for 2 months already has a crack in it that is 14 feet long and growing. Ben has blocked my number and is screening his calls and refuses to fix his mistake he made pouring this concrete. He did not have sealer on the concrete until November 15th. I was told that the project would take approximately 2 weeks. It took him over a month to complete this project. I was very hesitant on getting this job done so late in the year in fear of concrete not setting up correctly due to the cold. He assured me that they pour concrete all the way out in November and it wouldn't be a problem. Well its already got a 14 foot running crack that isn't stopping from the "control joints" and I have a whole new set of problems on my hands with the setting being damaged from buckling and my basement being compromised now with the possibility of water coming through due to hydrostatic pressure and my sill plate developing rot and mold buildup. I had a building envelope engineer come out and tell me about these issues in regards to my sill plate and the concrete being over the foundation. I will be updating this post when I have more time sharing text messages between me and Ben and his lack of Professionalism. Avoid this company at all costs if you value your investments.
